MRL London Historic Trophy set for sublime Brands Hatch debut

12 June 2026

Brands Hatch winds the clock back for a special celebration of its top-level sports car heritage when the London Historic Trophy debuts in exactly one week’s time (19-21 June). Tickets for this new event, curated by Motor Racing Legends (MRL), are available at discounted advance prices until 4pm next Wednesday (17 June) – click here to book now.

This fixture will act as the core celebration of the Kent circuit’s sports car heritage during its centenary year, with blockbuster demonstrations from Group C endurance machinery. This includes cars from Porsche, Jaguar, Sauber-Mercedes and more, in tribute to the venue’s fondly remembered time as the host of 1000km and 6 Hour World Sportscar Championship contests.

But that is all in addition to a superb competitive programme from MRL, with racing on all three days. This kicks off with an Indy circuit double-header on Friday afternoon, following a day of practice on the shorter layout. First of the two races is the HRDC Andrea de Adamich Trophy for classic Alfa Romeos, with the Generations Trophy for family members sharing MGBs following it up.

As Saturday dawns, the historic machines will take to Brands Hatch’s famed woodland areas, with action extending onto the full Grand Prix circuit. The first race on the longer route will be that afternoon’s Historic Touring Car Challenge encounter, shortly before the Group C icons stretch their legs in the first GP loop demo of the weekend.

Further Saturday contests include an hour-long encounter for the Royal Automobile Club Woodcote Trophy and Stirling Moss Trophy, the first of two Formula Junior outings for the weekend, and a Pre’66 GT Sprint before the Historic Touring Car Challenge closes the wheel-to-wheel programme with a second race. The full programme for the day also includes 2-Litre Sportscars qualifying plus a Supercar Driver parade.

Sunday will see the Formula Junior entrants return to the track, while the 2-Litre Sportscars will switch from qualifying to race mode. Other grids in action include the HRDC ‘Top Hat’ Pre-’66 Touring Cars, the Pre-War Sportscars, the HRDC Gerry Marshall Trophy Series and the HRDC Allstars with Classic Alfa Challenge.

With such a sublime and extensive list of cars taking to the circuit across the weekend, from the 1920s through to the 1990s, the full event will act as a living, breathing, museum of motor racing.

Away from the track, fans can enjoy browsing classic road cars and a superbly presented open paddock - plus Nigel Mansell's actual race-winning 1986 Williams-Honda FW11 will be on display. Extraordinary machines from Supercar Driver members will also be in the paddock all weekend. And there is also still time to register your vehicle for car displays – click here to apply.

Advance tickets are available from £32 with discounts for 13–15-year-olds and FREE entry for under-13s. For more information and to book now click here
