Launched to coincide with Brands Hatch’s 100th anniversary ‘Century of Power’ celebrations, the Motor Racing Legends London Historic Trophy debuts this summer. Cars from the 1920s through to the 1990s will star as part of a sumptuous line-up of race action, demonstrations and displays.
Star cars will include classically modelled sports car icons in the combined Royal Automobile Club Woodcote Trophy and Stirling Moss Trophy, while British Touring Car memories will be stirred by the Historic Touring Car Challenge for ‘80s tin tops. Saloons from the ‘60s and ‘70s will feature as well in the HRDC Top Hat and Gerry Marshall Trophy classes.
Other highlights will include the debut of both the 2-Litre Sportscars and Pre-’66 GT Sprint grids, while the Pre-War Sports Cars will shine a light on earlier automotive heroes. Further special sports car content comes in the shape of Group C demonstrations, celebrating the venue’s time as a host to 1000km endurance epics.

Motor Racing Legends’ Historic Touring Car Challenge brings tin top thrills from the ‘70s and ‘80s, with icons like the Jaguar XJS and Nissan Skyline GT-R. Two of the series key protagonists, the Ford Sierra RS Cosworth and BMW E30 M3, both turn 40 years old this year, so look out for special moments!
A new trophy for Motor Racing Legends in 2026, 2-Litre Sportscars is modelled on the famous European Championship of the early 1970s and welcomes cars from 1962-1976. Brands Hatch hosted that championship in 1975, and hosts this new series' debut. High-revving engines from Ford, Abarth and BMW power the likes of Lola, March and Osella.
The Royal Automobile Club Woodcote Trophy and Stirling Moss Trophy are Motor Racing Legends home for sports racers of the 1950s and early ‘60s, including icons like the Jaguar D-type, Maserati 250S, Lister Jaguar Knobbly and more.
New from Motor Racing Legends this year, Pre-’66 GT Sprint brings together the best mid-century grand tourers for a one-hour blast. Look for the likes of the AC Cobra, Jaguar E-Type, Lotus Elan and MGB.
The Motor Racing Legends Generations Trophy, a competition designed for families who want to race together and pass on their passion. Every entrant races an MGB, and shares with a family member of a different generation. Think fathers and sons, granddaughters and granddads, and inter-family feuds!
Featuring cars from 1920-1941, Motor Racing Legends’ Pre-War Sports Cars hosts the early days of motorsport and the beginnings of marques still famous today. Bentley, Aston Martin, Bugatti and Alfa Romeo are all regular features of the series, facing bygone icons like Lagonda, Frazer-Nash and Riley.
Run in conjunction with MRL, HRDC’s ’Top Hat’ series is home to a huge variety of sensational 1960s racers. Can the mighty Fords – the V8s of Falcon, Mustang, Galaxy – be bested by Alfa Romeo, Mini Cooper or even their stable-mate Anglia or Lotus Cortina?
The HRDC Gerry Marshall Trophy adds tin top heroes from the pre-’83 Group 1 era to the line-up. Look for the Ford Capri, and the famous Rover SD1, which turns 50 this year. These retro saloons will entertain in a 45-minute feature race.
This grid is a mighty blend of mid-century joy, with GT cars from Jaguar, Morgan and AC mixing with touring cars from Ford, Lotus and Austin. Alfa Romeo, meanwhile, has its own classes in the race, lending a distinctly Italian flavour.
