The 2025 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship title fight will go down to the final weekend of the year once again, with Tom Ingram facing off against Ash Sutton for the crown at Brands Hatch on 4/5 October. Ingram holds the advantage with a lead of 33 points, but with 67 available in a championship where anything can happen, the series leader can take nothing for granted.
Ingram has been hugely consistent throughout the year in his Team VERTU Hyundai, driving to six victories as part of an overall tally of 17 podiums ahead of three races on the Grand Prix circuit in just under two weeks’ time. Sutton himself has won five times at the wheel of NAPA Racing UK’s Ford Focus ST and stood on the rostrum on a further nine occasions and the duo arrive in Kent with a sizeable lead over the chasing pack.
The first point of the crucial weekend will be up for grabs during qualifying on Saturday, but with those further down the order benefiting from a boost advantage, it will be a tall order for either of the title contenders to go quickest. A Sunday triple-header then follows, with 20 points available for a win, with bonus points available for leading and setting the fastest lap.
Each of the leading drivers will have three teammates out on the road who could play a role. And they’re strong line-ups too. Ingram is joined in the Hyundai ranks by Tom Chilton, Adam Morgan and Senna Proctor, all race-winning drivers in the BTCC. Alongside Sutton in the NAPA branded Fords are multiple victors Dan Cammish and Daniel Rowbottom, plus the championship’s most recent winner Sam Osborne.
Others to look out for in the final weekend of the campaign include last year’s champion Jake Hill, at the wheel of his Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport BMW. Hill has won three times and could still finish third outright, entering the weekend just four points behind Cammish in the table. He’ll be keen to end the season on a high at his home circuit.
