Autosport stage returns for Super Touring Power 2

13 May 2024

Autosport will once again join in with the tin top celebrations when Super Touring Power 2 arrives at Brands Hatch on 29/30 June. The globally renowned motorsport publication will host the event’s interview stage for a second year in succession, with a range of touring car heroes expected to appear.

Members of the magazine and website’s editorial staff will be on-site throughout the weekend, sharing stories with prominent personalities. Drivers from the Super Touring era already confirmed to attend include Andy Rouse, Steve Soper and Anthony Reid. Further details of star guests in attendance will be announced in due course. There may also be opportunities to hear from drivers who’ve raced in other eras of the British Touring Car Championship and international series.

As part of RML Group's 40th anniversary celebrations at the event, current RML Group CEO Michael Mallock will feature on the Autosport Stage alongside his father and business founder Ray Mallock, recalling their glories and championship wins from the Super Touring era.

Autosport will use the opportunity to record interviews, some of which may appear in podcasts or in print. However, some of the questions and anecdotes will exclusively be shared with those in attendance across the two days.

Super Touring Power will be headlined by 1990s cars but machinery from the 1960s through to the early 2000s is expected to appear on the circuit, with several racing grids from the Classic Touring Car Racing Club. There will be special demonstrations and displays too, with Autosport’s presence adding to a busy off-track line-up.

Kevin Turner, Autosport Chief Editor, said: “The inaugural Super Touring Power was undoubtedly one of the highlights of 2023, for fans and racers alike. It was obvious it should happen again and we are very pleased to be involved in the 2024 edition, which we’re sure will be even more successful at evoking some golden eras of touring car racing than the first event. The Autosport team will again be out in force at Brands Hatch.”

David Willey, MSV’s Group Motorsport Event Manager, said: “I’m delighted to welcome Autosport back to Super Touring Power as an official part of the event line-up this summer. Kevin Turner and the entire Autosport team have been hugely supportive of the event since we first launched it last year, and we’re hugely excited that they’ll once again join in with the celebrations!”
