Get ready for a brand new festive experience at one of the UK’s most iconic sporting venues! The Winter Lights Spectacular at Brands Hatch, which debuts this November, is a magical evening out for visitors of all ages, set against the stunning backdrop of the legendary motor racing circuit. 

You'll follow an illuminated trail on foot that winds around the circuit grounds, filled with dazzling light displays that will bring winter nights to life. Along the route you’ll find cosy catering spots where you can warm up with delicious seasonal food and drinks, along with various funfair rides and other attractions. Enjoy interactive light features perfect for kids and grown-ups alike, and make memories together as you toast marshmallows under the stars.

What are the travel directions to Brands Hatch, and which entrance should I use?

By Car (please note we have unlimited parking on hard-standing)

  • From the M25 (Junction 3, Swanley):
    • Exit at Junction 3 onto the A20 towards West Kingsdown
    • Continue straight, following signs for Brands Hatch
    • The circuit main entrance will be on your left after approximately 3 miles

  • From the M20:
    • Join the M26 at Junction 3
    • Exit M26 at Junction 2A onto the A20
    • Follow the A20 across three small roundabouts
    • Brands Hatch will be on your right as you leave West Kingsdown

By Train

  • The nearest mainline station is Swanley, accessible via regular services from London Victoria and London Bridge
  • From Swanley station, a short taxi ride will take you directly to the circuit

You should enter the venue via the Main Gate. For precise location guidance, you can use the What3Words address: ///garage.stroke.across. The venue address is Brands Hatch Circuit, West Kingsdown, Kent, TN15 6FS.

Where does the trail go, and how long does it take to walk?

The trail starts by Hailwoods Restaurant near the race paddock and winds through the grounds surrounding the circuit. While visitors won’t walk on the track itself, they will get to see the circuit in a whole new light...

The trail is approximately 1.6km long and will take around 1 hour and 30 minutes to complete, at a relaxed pace.

What time is last entry?

Last entry is 15 minutes after the final time slot, which is at 8.00pm, so the latest you can enter is 8.15pm.

The site will be closing at 10.00pm and all visitors must be off site by then. We recommend arriving on time to make the most of your visit!

Do I need to purchase a ticket if I have a resident/ season pass?

If you have a resident's or season pass, you will still need to purchase a ticket to attend the Winter Lights Spectacular, as these passes are not accepted for the event.

The only exception is Residents’ Night on Thursday 27 November 2025, when local residents (only) can use their pass for free entry. Details on how to select a time slot will be shared nearer the time. Please note that any additional guests attending with a resident on that night will still need to purchase a ticket.

Brands Hatch and other MSV season passes are not valid on any dates.

Can I pay with cash at the Winter Lights Trail?

No, we will not be accepting cash at the Winter Lights trail. All payments, including those for food, drinks, and funfair stalls, must be made by card or contactless payment. Please ensure you bring a suitable payment method with you.

Is the route accessible?

Yes, the Winter Lights trail is accessible, though it does include some uneven ground and gradual inclines. Pushchairs can be used along the route, and we recommend wearing suitable footwear for outdoor walking. Our friendly stewards will be positioned along the trail to offer assistance if needed.

Please note that wheelchairs will not be available on site, so if required, we kindly ask visitors to bring their own.

Am I eligible for a free carer ticket?

Carers of disabled guests may be entitled to free admission, however this must be arranged online in advance of arrival - carers’ tickets cannot be obtained on the day at the gate.

To apply for a free carer ticket we require only one of the following documents:

  • A copy of the most recent DLA letter for care and/or mobility
  • Receipt of Personal Independence Payment (PIP) showing the current entitlement
  • A copy of your Attendance Allowance documentation
  • A copy of your Access Card (front and back) with a valid +1 symbol

Carer's tickets can only be booked in conjunction with a full price adult or child ticket.

Do children need to be accompanied?

Please note all under 18s must be accompanied by at least one adult.

Can I bring my dog?

No - animals are not permitted, with the exception of guide and assistance dogs (please contact us in advance at [email protected] to make arrangements).

Will there be any flashing or strobe lighting along the trail?

Yes, there will be strobe lights at various installations along the route as part of the trail experience.

What facilities and activities will be available on the route?

There will be a range of facilities and activities available along the trail to help make your visit comfortable and memorable.

Toilets are located at the start of the trail, the halfway point, and at the end of the route. You’ll also find food and drink stops along the way, including our Festive Food Court, where you can enjoy seasonal treats, warm drinks, and cosy refreshments.

Along the trail, there’s plenty to enjoy including a funfair, photo opportunities, marshmallow toasting, and the chance to post a Christmas wish at our magical tree.

Please note: some activities may carry an additional charge.

How do I get the wish template for the Elderwood Wishing Tree?

A printable wish template will be included in your final instructions email closer to your event date.

You can complete it at home and bring it with you to post at the Elderwood Wishing Tree during your visit.

Will bad weather affect my visit?

The trail is an outdoor event and is not covered, so we recommend wearing appropriate warm clothing and suitable footwear to stay comfortable throughout your visit.

If severe weather poses a risk to visitor safety, a decision on whether the event will go ahead will be made in the afternoon on the day. If the event is cancelled, we’ll contact you via email with details on how to rebook your experience. Be sure to check any junk folders. You will receive a credit to rebook, but please note that refunds will not be made available.

You can also check our social media channels for the latest updates. If you don’t hear from us, the event is still going ahead as planned. In the case of inclement weather where the trail remains open, no refunds or credits will be issued.

I’m unable to attend the event I booked. Can I get a refund or change my booking to another date?

We’re sorry you won’t be able to join us. Tickets are non-refundable or transferable, as outlined in our terms and conditions, unless the event is cancelled for reasons under our control.  Tickets can, however, be passed on to someone else.

Timings

The first arrival time each day is 4.30pm, with frequent arrival times available up until 8pm. Once you're in, you’re welcome to enjoy the trail at your own pace. The trail closes promptly at 10pm. 

Parking

Free parking will be available on hard standing, with designated disabled parking for blue badge holders.

Disabled Guests

Please be aware the trail includes uneven ground and some inclines. Please note that wheelchairs are not available on site, so if needed, we kindly ask visitors to bring their own.

Season Passes

Season passes are not valid for the Winter Lights spectacular on any date. Residents’ passes are only accepted on Residents’ Night (27 November). All other attendees will need to purchase a ticket.
