Daryl De Leon went fastest in the sole Free Practice session of the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship weekend at Brands Hatch this morning (Saturday). The WSR BMW lapped the Indy circuit in 47.360s, coming out on top in a super-close session which saw the top-10 separated by marginally more than three tenths of a second.
De Leon’s nearest rival was Dexter Patterson in the first of the new-for-2026 Audi A3 Saloons. Patterson was just 0.042s off the pace-setter, with Mikey Doble only a handful of hundredths further adrift in one of the sister German cars.
Just over a tenth back from De Leon’s headline time, Dan Cammish was the best of the NAPA Racing UK Fords in in fourth. His four-time champion teammate Ash Sutton was right in the thick of it too, taking fifth with an effort just 14 thousandths slower than that of Cammish’s identical machine.
Daniel Rowbottom, winner of the first ever BTCC qualifying race last time out, was sixth for Cataclean Plato Racing with reigning title winner Tom Ingram also in contention in seventh. Charles Rainford, who won here last year, was eighth in the other WSR BMW with Chris Smiley and Adam Morgan completing the top 10.
