Optimum Motorsport has announced that experienced GT racer Ben Barnicoat will partner Morgan Tillbrook for the 2026 season, with the pair piloting a McLaren 720S GT3 Evo.

Barnicoat has previous experience in the championship, having made an appearance during the 2023 season in GT3 as well as competing in GT4 back in 2018, both times racing in McLaren machinery.

Since then, Barnicoat has become a world-renowned sportscar driver, competing regularly in IMSA and WEC. The 29-year-old also contested last month’s Bathurst 12 Hour race for Optimum.

Tillbrook, meanwhile, will begin his second season with Optimum and his sixth behind the wheel of a 720S. Alongside Marvin Kirchhöfer last year, the pair were in the hunt for championship glory right up until the final round of the year.

Ben Barnicoat said: “I’m really excited to be competing in British GT this year alongside Morgan with Optimum Motorsport. Morgan’s a proven force in this series and I’ve already had success with this team, so I’m confident we can have further success together in 2026.”
