Kyle Ryde delivered an incredible lap of the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit in ROKiT Oxygen Performance Qualifying to claim the Omologato Pole Position, setting a time 0.209s faster than the previous all-time record.
Max Cook had set the initial pace in the early stages, but in a super-fast session a determined Ryde was focused on returning to the top and a sensational lap-record smashing pace, put him back ahead of fierce rival Scott Redding.
Redding had been the rider to beat for the Hager PBM Racing Team heading into ROKiT Oxygen Performance Qualifying, with 0.417s separating the pair with Cook completing the front row.
Christian Iddon leapt to fourth place in the closing stages to head the second row, edging ahead of McAMS Yamaha’s Bradley Ray and Leon Haslam.
An intense 0.991s covered the top nine riders; Glenn Irwin qualified in seventh place on his return after a heavy crash at Snetterton, to push ahead of Rory Skinner.
Joe Talbot was ninth fastest despite a crash in the final minute of the session with Storm Stacey completing the top ten ahead of ZYN BSB Race 1.
