BTCC Free Practice 2: DeLeon goes top ahead of key Brands Hatch Qualifying session

04 October 2025

Daryl DeLeon set the pace in the final Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship Free Practice session of the 2025 season, with a time of 1m29.271s in his WSR BMW.

DeLeon’s best effort was enough to keep him just 0.053s ahead of a late effort from Josh Cook’s Toyota during a supremely close session on the full Grand Prix circuit. Indeed, Charles Rainford’s BMW and Adam Morgan’s Hyundai, third and fourth, were both within a tenth of DeLeon’s session topping pace.

Senna Proctor completed the top-five in the second of the Hyundais, but only just. He was a mere thousandth of a second in front of Daniel Rowbottom’s Ford Focus ST.

Tom Ingram fared better of the two title protagonists in seventh place. Rival Ash Sutton was only 18th but qualifying this afternoon will offer the first clear indication of their ultimate pace.

Chris Smiley, Aiden Moffat and Tom Chilton rounded out the top-10 at the end of the 35-minute session.
