Bennetts BSB Race 2: Redding doubles up, Ryde extends advantage over Ray

19 October 2025

Scott Redding doubled up on Bennetts British Superbike Championship race wins at Brands Hatch, leaving it until the final two laps when he was able to make a move on the title contenders Kyle Ryde and Bradley Ray, as the title fight goes down to the wire in the final race.

At the start, Ray launched into the lead ahead of Redding with Ryde into third, but a lap later Christian Iddon had a high-speed crash on the exit of Clark Curve and after a heavy tumble through the gravel, the BMW Safety Car was deployed.

The race resumed on lap five and Ray was holding the advantage on the Raceways Yamaha ahead of Ryde with the pair trading blows for the position at the front of the pack. Leon Haslam then crashed out of contention at Clark Curve on the restart, whilst Rory Skinner also fell three laps later in an intense start to the race.

At the front, Ryde moved back ahead at Druids, but Ryde instantly fought back at Stirlings to regain the advantage. The pair were duelling for the crucial points, but Ryde was soon back ahead at Druids with Redding then looking to make it a double for Hager PBM Ducati.

Redding moved into second with a dive down the inside at Hawthorns on Ray on the penultimate lap and then he had Ryde in his sights. It went down to the last lap and the 2019 champion moved ahead with a repeat pass at Hawthorns and he was able to hold off the Nitrous Competitions Racing Yamaha rider to the line with Ray in third. 30 points ahead of the final race now separate the pair.

Danny Kent held onto fourth place for the McAMS Racing Yamaha team ahead of Charlie Nesbitt and Max Cook. Tommy Bridewell held off Glenn Irwin for seventh with Storm Stacey and Luke Hedger completing the top ten.
