Rampant Blakeley storms to race two win at Brands Hatch as Granfors wraps up GB4 title

29 September 2024

KMR Sport’s Lucas Blakeley blasted to a fourth win of the season in GB4 race two at Brands Hatch, but second place for pole sitter Linus Granfors was all that the Swede needed to wrap up the title a race early.

Blakeley took the lead on the first lap, and though Granfors was put under massive pressure early on, he moved back into second at the end of the first tour, and with Harry Burgoyne not winning, the title was provisionally secured.

Blakeley won with a considerable margin from Granfors, while Palmowski's podium in third wasn't enough to keep her in the title fight heading to the final race.

Burgoyne had made a great start but was boxed in on the run to the line and was passed by Palmowski, and had to settle for fourth. With Granfors second, Burgoyne needed to have won the race to take the fight down to the final race this afternoon.

Arden's Leon Wilson recovered from a slow start to claim fifth place for Arden Motorsport, ahead of Finn Harrison who had shot up to second in the opening corners, only to slide off the road at Clark Curve at the end of the first lap, and had to settle for sixth.

Fox Motorsport's Branden Templeton was seventh ahead of Graham Brunton Racing's Callum Baxter, who emerged on top of a scrap with Fortec's Jack Taylor and KMR Sport's Chloe Grant, who completed the top-10.

The final race of the season is due to start at 17.35.
