One of the most iconic machines from the Group C sports car era, Jaguar’s XJR-9 which won the 1988 24hr of Le Mans, will make a special appearance at Brands Britannia (Monday 26 August). The Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust will bring the iconic British race car to the event where it will take part in an on-track demonstration on the Indy circuit.

Five XJR-9s entered Le Mans in 1988, with this example driven to overall victory by Jan Lammers, Johnny Dumfries and Andy Wallace. The sight of this Silk Cut-liveried Jaguar toppling Porsche at Le Mans cemented the XJR-9’s status as one of our nations iconic race machines.

Neil Campbell, Jaguar Heritage Trust Vehicle Collection Manager said: “We are thrilled to be demonstrating our 1988 Le Mans winning Jaguar at Brands Britannia. The Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust collection is unique in as much as we consider ourselves a ‘living museum’ and keep many of our pivotal vehicles in operating condition so they can continue to be seen, heard, and enjoyed to promote the heritage of Jaguar Cars and JLR at events across the world.”

Don’t miss out on seeing this Le Mans winner alongside two other Group C Silk Cut Jaguars at this year’s Brands Britannia. This famous model will be accompanied on-track in and in the display by another XJR-9 as well as an example of the later XJR-11.

Discounted tickets are available for just £23, with reductions for 13-15-year-olds and free entry for under-13s. Book before 4pm on Thursday to save. After then, tickets will be full price on the gate. For more information and to book, click here.
