Mercedes-AMG machinery moved to the top of the Intelligent Money British GT Championship order at Brands Hatch, with Mike Price and Callum Macleod’s Greystone GT entry setting the quickest time in Free Practice 2 this afternoon (Saturday).

Macleod's best effort of the Kent circuit's famed Grand Prix layout dramatically upped the pace from the morning session, with his time of 1m24.240s knocking almost a second off the earlier pace. The Mercedes-AMG was 0.383s clear of the rest in blisteringly hot conditions when the session ended just shy of its scheduled one-hour running time following an off for Simon Orange in his McLaren 720S.

Darren Leung and Dan Harper's Century Motorsport BMW was best of the rest towards the head of the order, just eight thousandths of a second clear of Free Practice 1 pace setters Andrew Howard and Ross Gunn in the Beechdean Aston Martin. Shaun Balfe and Sandy Mitchell's Barwell Motorsport Lamborghini was fourth fastest to ensure that the top four spots were occupied by machines from as many different manufacturers.

Behind that, Ian Loggie and Jules Gounon's retro liveried Mercedes-AMG rounded out the top-five. Of the other notable runners, series leaders James Cottingham and Jonny Adam ended the session eighth.

Josh Miller and Seb Hopkins led the GT4 order at the wheel of the R Racing Aston Martin Vantage AMR.

GT3 and GT4 grid orders will be decided across four split qualifying sessions later this afternoon at 3.55pm.
