Brands Hatch is set to host a grandstand finish to this year’s Bennetts British Superbike Championship with eight riders still in the hunt ahead of the final three races of the season on 13-15 October.
The stage has been set following a dramatic penultimate event at Donington Park, with BeerMonster Ducati’s Tommy Bridewell leading the standings by just 7.5 points from teammate Glenn Irwin. Both riders endured a difficult weekend in the East Midlands however, allowing the closing pack to narrow the gap.
This means that Kyle Ryde is now 35 points off the series lead, the equivalent of one race win at the final round, with a total of 105 available. Leon Haslam is a further five adrift with Lee Jackson and Jason O’Halloran amongst the others still carrying title hopes. Josh Brookes and Christian Iddon are the other two competitors in mathematical contention.
Following an unpredictable season so far, all bets are off. The only certainty is that the title won’t be decided until the final day of the season.

- Tommy Bridewell (BeerMonster Ducati) 368

- Lee Jackson (Cheshire Mouldings Kawasaki) 324.5
