Brands Hatch undergoes Spring improvement works

Brands Hatch has undergone a series of improvement works this week to ensure the circuit is in the best possible position ahead of a busy summer period.

Resurfacing has been carried out in several areas, including the pit lane entry. The Grand Prix circuit has also received a significant amount of attention, with a new surface laid from Surtees through Pilgrims Drop right on through to Hawthorn Bend.

Replacement kerbs have been installed too, notably at McLaren, whilst the gravel trap at Druids has been replenished.

The venue has also made the most of this period to make a number of detail changes and improvements. This includes a repainted pit wall, with some renewed brickwork. Several of the speakers have been replaced along the pit wall too.

Brands Hatch Circuit Manager Mike Lally said: “We’re always looking carefully at how we can improve Brands Hatch as a venue, and we’ve had a perfect window following the Fanatec GT World Challenge event to make some changes to the on-circuit and pit infrastructure. The resurfacing work on the Grand Prix circuit means that much of the famous longer layout has been replenished in the past 18 months, whilst other projects will ensure the circuit is in excellent shape for the summer months, for the benefit of all participants.”

The Kent circuit hosts a plethora of exciting events in the coming weeks with discounted advance tickets available now and free entry for under-13s. The Masters Historic Festival is back at the end of the month (27/28 May) ahead of the first ever Brands Britannia on Sunday 4 June and American SpeedFest 10 on 17/18 June.
