2014 Festival highlights:
Masters Historic Festival (+ FIA Historic F1)
Brands Hatch (GP)
Saturday 23 - Sunday 24 May 2015

The Masters Historic Festival returns to Brands Hatch this weekend for a traditional Bank Holiday of classic racing action.

The FIA Masters Historic Formula One Championship features a busy grid of normally-aspirated Grand Prix cars raced during the 60s, 70 and 80s, including stirring machinery from Williams, Lotus, Tyrrell, Arrows and more. Particularly nteresting cars include a Williams FW07, the very car with which the Grove squad claimed its first-ever victories and titles with in '79 and '80, and the Shadow DN5 - a cult favourite car in which Jean-Pierre Jarier claimed the opening two pole positions of the 1975 Grand Prix season.

The FIA Masters Historic Sports Car Championship recalls a golden era of endurance racing, featuring some of the most beautiful race machines ever built. Expect to see Lola T70s and Ford GT40s bringing a flavour of Le Mans to the venue.

This year's event will also feature the Super Touring Car Trophy for machines from 1970 to 1999, including the Super Touring Cars that saw the BTCC surge in popularity in the 1990s, with the cars running exactly as they did in period. Star entries include a pair of pristine Peugeot 406s run by period racer Patrick Watts, and a Vauxhall Vectra for John Cleland, the man who won the championship 20 years ago.

F1 Demos - A selection of additional Grand Prix cars will take to the track for demonstration runs on Sunday. These include a Benetton B196, as driven to third place in the 1996 F1 Constructors World Championship by Jean Alesi and Gerhard Berger, a Prost AP02 and a 1989 Lotus 101 which was driven in period by three-time World Champion Nelson Piquet in period.

PLEASE NOTE:  Sunday is the main event day and there will be festival fun all around the venue - click the 'ENTERTAINMENT' tab for details.

The Masters Raceday will take place on Bank Holiday Monday on the Indy circuit, and will also feature a Super Touring Car race. Click here for details.
