This August, Lotuses will fill Brands Hatch for a celebration of Britain's innovative sports and racing car marque. The event will cover everything from Lotus's early years, through to Formula One success, including the great sports and supercars that have left the Norfolk factory gates.
This year marks half a century since Team Lotus and Jim Clark's most successful season, in which he emphatically won his second F1 World Championship and the famous Indianapolis 500. The marque's influence on F1 will be celebrated with demonstration runs from the Type 21, 101 and 102 cars, plus three cars representing the current Lotus F1 team's Benetton and Renault past.
Three more special anniversaries, 40 years of the Esprit, 25 years of the Lotus Carlton and the Elise's 20th birthday, will be marked with displays for these iconic cars and a Lotus parade. The Red Arrows will even stage a flypast in tribute at 1:24pm on Sunday!
A packed race programme will be headlined by Lotus Cup Europe, Lotus Cup UK and the Elise Trophy, showcasing the company's class-leading modern-day products on the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit. The factory's latest cars and special projects will also be on display, and a busy trade village will offer everything from memorabilia to complete cars.
